Brooklyn Beckham has responded to critics who slammed his latest cooking video, in which he made spaghetti, by posting a cheeky meme in the comments

Brooklyn Beckham has hit back at critics after his latest cooking video sparked a fresh wave of comments from fans who were less than impressed with his culinary skills.

The 27-year-old aspiring chef found himself at the centre of another food-related debate after sharing his take on spaghetti all’assassina, a traditional Italian pasta dish known for its deliberately charred finish.

The recipe involves cooking dry spaghetti directly in a pan with tomato sauce and gradually adding liquid as the pasta absorbs it, rather than boiling it separately in salted water.

But while the burnt texture is part of the dish, some viewers were unconvinced by Brooklyn’s efforts, with several taking to the comments to criticise the finished meal.

Among the responses were accusations that the pasta looked “vile”, while others branded him the “Spaghetti Murderer”.

Brooklyn appeared to take the criticism in his stride, replying to some trolls with a Friends meme featuring Ross Geller making his so-called friendly middle finger gesture.

He also addressed the complaints on his Instagram Story, writing: “For all the lovely comments about me always burning my food this pasta is suppose to be burnt sooooooo.”

Some followers agreed with him, pointing out that the dish is supposed to develop a charred texture as the spaghetti cooks directly in the pan.

Others, however, remained unimpressed, with one writing: “This looks… in a word – vile. It’s not even cooked properly.”

Another asked: “Where is the REAL tomato sauce”, while a third commented: “Basically burnt pasta with jar sauce.”

One joked: “This is not al dente, but al hammer,” while another declared: “The Spaghetti Murderer is the right name.”

Amateur chef Brooklyn also faced accusations that the dish was not made from scratch, with one viewer writing: “A tube of paste, a jar of sauce, ready prepped garlic. that’s not real cooking oh and the spaghetti looks half cooked. No thanks.”

However, not everyone was against his latest kitchen experiment. One fan wrote: “Not gonna lie Brooklyn, that looks damn tasty.”

Another defended him, saying: “Interesting how many people criticise Brooklyn but still take the time out to watch his videos. Go Brooklyn.”

A third added: “It looks delish. Heck w the haters/food snobs. loved watching you cook and I’ll give this one a try.”

It is not the first time Brooklyn has faced a backlash over his recipes. Earlier this summer, he drew criticism for making a protein pizza featuring his Cloud 23 hot sauce.

He also attracted attention after a video showed him collecting seawater from a luxury yacht to boil pasta. The clip, originally shared last year, was reposted to TikTok on August 8 and prompted a fresh round of debate among viewers.

Brooklyn’s cooking content has also invited comparisons with his father, David Beckham, who has spoken about his own passion for food.

In a 2013 interview with The Times , David revealed that he had taken a six-month culinary course while living in Italy during his time at AC Milan.

“Funnily enough, when I lived in Italy, I took a six-month culinary course at a professional chef’s school and learnt to make real ragu and fresh pasta,” he said.

“I used to go there three times a week… I was obsessed with perfecting the risotto because it is difficult.”

The latest criticism comes amid the ongoing reported rift between Brooklyn and his family. In January, he released a statement making a series of allegations against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, including claims that they had tried to interfere with his wedding to wife Nicola Peltz and control him through the Beckham family brand.

Brooklyn has not been seen publicly with his parents or siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper since the family feud became public.
