Brooklyn Beckham was reportedly left feeling ‘uncomfortable’ after images of his younger sister, Harper, emerged, arriving at his home in Los Angeles, despite the family rift
Brooklyn Beckham is said to have felt “uncomfortable” over pictures of his sister Harper at his home. The Beckham family have been at loggerheads for some time, with Brooklyn saying earlier this year he had no desire to reconcile with his family.
On Friday, his dad, Sir David, was honoured with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on Hollywood Boulevard, just a short drive from where Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, live.
But just hours after the grand unveiling, Harper, 14, was seen arriving at Brooklyn’s home in a chauffeur-driven car, still wearing her pink dress from the ceremony. However, any hopes the young star had of extending an olive branch to her older brother were dashed as Harper didn’t enter the property.
Instead, Brooklyn was in New York, on the other side of the United States and shared an image of himself on a run. Despite this, the chef is aware of the pictures circulating of his younger sister.
A source told The Sun: “Brooklyn and Nicola are aware that Harper visited their Los Angeles home. They have not responded. It felt like an orchestrated move by his family and made them feel uncomfortable.”
In pictures obtained by Page Six, Harper was seen walking to the gates alone, still wearing her pink silk dress from the ceremony. Insiders said Harper arrived ‘unannounced’ and she was the only one of the family to make the trip.
A spokesperson for Brooklyn told the outlet: “That photographers were in place as the letter was hand-delivered says it all — this was choreographed for the cameras.”
But hitting back, a source close to Sir David and Lady Beckham branded the claims “nasty accusations”. They told the Daily Mail: “It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother.
“Nothing needed to be said at all, so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary.” And while the Beckhams have remained silent about the incident, Romeo has since taken a swipe at his brother.
Sharing a snap of himself and Harper on Instagram, he said: “My favourite person ever @harperbeckham,” alongside a white heart emoji. Cruz also took to his own Instagram page to share images with his family, including a picture of himself and David drinking a shot at a restaurant.
Before the ceremony on Friday, David made it clear that he had no intention of discussing the rift with his son, who had previously instructed his family to contact him through his lawyers. Speaking to Variety, Sir David said: “To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.”
Earlier this year, Brooklyn accused his family of briefing the media about him, as well as alleging that they had attempted to ruin his relationship with his wife. In a scathing six-page statement, he fumed: “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
The Mirror has approached representatives for both Brooklyn and Victoria.
