Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s much mocked Halloween pics caused a stir on social media with the son of David and Victoria Beckham eventually hitting the delete button
Following a swathe of ridicule over his Halloween pictures with wife Nicola Peltz and her pal Damian Hurley, Brooklyn Beckham has been likened to a ‘visual spare part.’
This week, Brooklyn and his wife Nicola appeared in pictures from a Halloween party dressed as Superman and Catwoman. Though the two DC comic book characters did appear in some stories together, they were never romantically involved, and Catwoman was instead a love interest for Batman.
In one of the said pictures, Nicola had her arm around Damian, who was dressed in a similar black leather outfit to her, and matched her pouty smoulder, whilst Brooklyn smiled goofily in the background.

The photo caused an immediate backlash alongisde with fans calling 27-year-old Brooklyn “out of place” and a “spare part”.
It comes after Brooklyn has defended himself from claims he is being controlled by wife Nicola in their four year marriage.
“Brooklyn appears to find himself relegated to the role of a ‘visual spare part’ which could be why he seems to be doing everything he can to court and pander to Nicola and try to retrieve some signals of attention from her in other photos,” said body language expert Judi James.
In another photo Brooklyn held onto Nicola and stared at her face, whilst she gazed passively at the camera and did not reciprocate her husband’s affections. Judi likened this photo to those Brooklyn’s parents have taken together, in which Victoria Beckham is “draped” over David, while he seemed to avoid returning the gesture. Judi said these kinds of poses seemed to be in “Brooklyn’s DNA”.
Judi added that she felt there was a “hint of poor etiquette” in Nicola and Damian’s closeness. She explained that when celebrity couples part from one another whilst on a red carpet, so that one can pose with another celeb, they will generally put distance between one another so that the solo star does not look like they are lurking in the background. Judi said Nicola and Damian could have done the same, especially since they were dressed near identically, in skintight black leather and with “his ‘n hers whips”.
The picture has since been deleted from Brooklyn’s Instagram account but remains live of Damian’s.
The move followed a strong reaction from followers as one asked: “Why is she wearing a matching costume with some other guy?”
Another said: “I’ve been seeing that too. Seems like her little puppet unfortunately. Very unbalanced relationship.” A third added: “His costume has nothing to do with hers while Damian’s one is the perfect match.”
Meanwhile, Nicola was also accused of copying her estranged mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham. Victoria, who found fame as Posh Spice, famously wore a black PVC catsuit in the 1996 music video for the Spice Girls hit, Say You’ll Be There. “Wannabe @victoriabeckham,” said one Instagram user alongside three laughing-face emojis.
Another user commented a GIF of Victoria rolling her eyes. Another GIF was posted, showing Victoria in her catsuit. The image of the trio, however, isn’t the first time they have baffled followers.
