NIZAMABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will organise district-level celebrations in Nizamabad on Friday to mark what the party described as a decade of “people-friendly governance” under former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
BRS Nizamabad district president and former Armoor MLA A. Jeevan Reddy said on Thursday that the celebrations would be held at the BRS district office, where party leaders would discuss the development achieved during the BRS government.
Jeevan Reddy said the event would also recall the Telangana separate-statehood movement and the party’s journey in government. Activists would share their experiences with younger generations, he said.
A milk abhishekam will be performed to Chandrashekar Rao’s portrait, which he described as a symbol of the Telangana movement. Activists, poets, artists and JAC leaders who participated in the movement would also be felicitated.
Former minister V. Prashanth Reddy, former MLAs Bigala Ganesh Gupta, Bajireddy Goverdhan and Shakeel Aamir, former MLC V.G. Goud, former ZP chairman D. Vittal Rao, Bajireddy Jagan and former mayor Neetu Kiran will attend the meeting.
Jeevan Reddy appealed to BRS leaders, activists, poets, artists, intellectuals, women and youth to participate in the celebrations.
