Bryson DeChambeau gets path back to PGA Tour after LIV Golf collapse

Bryson DeChambeau has his pathway back to the PGA Tour, should he decide to go that route following the death of LIV Golf officially on Thursday.

The DP World Tour has offered DeChambeau — one of golf’s most recognizable names — full playing privileges for 2027 as the winner of the 2025 U.S. Open, The Telegraph reported on Thursday.

And if DeChambeau decides to play on the European tour in 2027, he would be able to earn his PGA Tour card back for the following season by finishing in the top 10 in the Race to Dubai money list, the report also stated.

If DeChambeau is to take up the DP World Tour offer, he would need to submit his paperwork by Nov. 14.

DeChambeau is slated to play in a DP World Tour event later this year, announcing back in August that he would take part in the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa from Dec. 3-6.

As for the PGA Tour, as of right now, they don’t seem inclined to grant DeChambeau, or other stars such as Jon Rahm or Cameron Smith, an immediate pathway back.

What DeChambeau might do still remains a mystery with the demise of LIV Golf, which the American golf star had lauded publicly and, reportedly, behind the scenes in an effort to get LIV 2.0 off the ground.

“The business model makes a lot of sense,” DeChambeau recently said during an appearance on the “Figuring Out” podcast. “And we’re actually working through that right now for this new model where it will make full financial sense. It’s no funny business, no nothing. It’s going to be done right. And this is going to be a league, hopefully, that exists forever.”

Nevertheless, Sports Business Journal reported that DeChambeau never signed on to commit to the new iteration of LIV Golf, which came about after BC Partners had planned a $300 million rescue deal after the Saudi Public Investment Fund pulled its financial support earlier this year.

The golf league, which turned the sport of golf on its head when it launched in 2022, made the decision official in New Jersey bankruptcy court Thursday when its lawyers revealed that the “debtors are not currently proceeding with the LIV 2.0 plan.”

LIV will now move to liquidate its remaining assets.

DeChambeau’s on-course success has varied in 2026. He captured two individual wins on the LIV circuit in 2026, winning at LIV Golf Singapore and LIV Golf South Africa.

Nevertheless, he failed to make the cut at three of the four majors this season.

DeChambeau’s popularity has remained steadfast in part due to his presence in the golf content space on YouTube and social media.

He has more than 3 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, and his most recent video has racked up 2.7 million views in the seven days since it was published.
