Jockey Grant Buckley continues his busy schedule when following up long day at Kembla Grange on Saturday with some strong rides at Parkes on Sunday.

Buckley, who travels wide and far, will partner the Jane Clement-trained Macleay in the feature event of the day, the $40,000 Parkes Services Club Parkes Cup (1600m).

Macleay was a winner of the Lightning Ridge Cup last month when accounting for stablemate Extreme Merger, which contests the final event, the Parkes Courier Service/Kennards Hire Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m) in which Kody Nestor takes the ride.

Macleay wasn’t far away at Quirindi at his latest start last Monday and had been racing well before the Lightning Ridge victory.

Buckley’s first ride of the day at Parkes is on the Sharon Jeffries-prepared Kingdom Heart in the McPhersons Parts & Service/Parkes Taxis Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1000m).

Kingdom Heart is a filly by King’s Legacy that started her career with David Pfieffer, before joining the Luke Pepper camp and then moving on to Jeffries.

She’s had two starts for Jeffries for a third at Warren and a last-start fourth at Dubbo when beaten just over one length.

The Alison Smith-prepared Eilrahc is Buckley’s last ride of the day at Parkes, with the galloper having been ridden by the jockey in all of his recent starts including a win at Orange four starts ago.

Eilrahc wasn’t beaten far when a last start seventh at Narromine.

Meanwhile, the training partnership of Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou will have two runners lining up in the Parkes Services Club Inglis Xtra Bonus Super Maide Showcase Handicap (1400m).

Cosmic Eagle contests the event with Zoe Hunt taking the ride, while Che Ole will go around with Chad Lever in the saddle.

Cosmic Eagle has been placed in five of her nine starts and ran well when a last start third at Newcastle behind National News.

Che Ole ran a good race when finishing second at Hawkesbury behind Superata two starts ago, and has run well in a trial since failing in a Bathurst start following that.
