The Andhra Pradesh government announced good news to Kovur Sugar Factory workers by giving green signal to payment of arrears to factory employees and workers. The AP cabinet has approved for payment of arrears to over 400 employees, releasing a GO sanctioning payment of Rs 22 crore.
On the occasion, MLA Prasanthi Reddy did Palabhishekam to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s portrait. The 11-year long wait of the workers bore fruit.
She alleged that the previous YSRC government mentioned Kovur Sugar Factory only in its election manifesto but did nothing for the welfare of the workers. The coalition government has fulfilled its promise of resolving the sugar factory’s problems.
Employees and workers of the sugar factory participated in the programme.
