James Hart had also stated that he was attracted to men while being married to the You’re So Vain singer. James Hart and Carly Simon had married in 1987, but 13 years later their marriage had started to break down. Hart had realized that he could not ignore his feelings for men. Hart had started going to gay strip clubs, chat lines and also bathhouses.

James Hart had taken time to confess to Carly Simon about his ‘double life’. The singer, without wasting time, had taken him to a psychiatric hospital located in Massachusetts for treatment. The ex-pair had a couple’s therapy session during which Hart confessed about cheating on her. In his words:
“Yes, I was unfaithful to you. I’ve been having sex with men. She didn’t want me to feel any more guilt than I already did. The desire to escape was more powerful than the cure.”
Carly Simon did not cry or break down. She patted her husband on the head, and after years of discord, the ex-pair had separated in 2007. Carly just had one wish of knowing about Hart’s sexual preferences and had shared of how his boyfriends would call up crying.

According to social media reports, Hart was not happy with her close friendship with Mick Jagger. He had once revealed how Simon had gone to meet Jagger backstage at a concert, and Hart had felt excluded and was filled with revenge. Carly had earlier confessed to having a mutual attraction towards Mick Jagger, but both were never in a full-fledged relationship. Speaking about her Parkinson’s disease, Simon had stated that she had taken some time to understand the diagnosis, to adjust to it, and to decide how much she wanted to speak about it in public.
Simon earlier in an interview with BBC had revealed in-depth details related to her Parkinson disease. She had called it unpredictable and had stated that on some days she is so tired that she cannot get the day moving at all. In her words:
“On others, it gives me a little more room to move, think, work, and feel like myself. But I have not stopped living, and I have not stopped working. I have always been more critical of my appearance than anyone else could possibly imagine (check out the irony of having written You’re So Vain), and this gave my inner critic quite a lot of new material.”
