Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says he is eager to have his full squad together as preparations for the 2026-27 season enter their final stage.
The Reds drew 1-1 with Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in their latest pre-season outing, with Bryan Mbeumo continuing his impressive form by scoring his third goal in two matches after cancelling out Ibrahim Mbaye’s early opener.
Several senior players, including Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui and Youri Tielemans, returned to action, although Tom Heaton and Mason Mount were both forced off with suspected injuries.
United will now travel to the Republic of Ireland, where Carrick hopes having the entire squad together will help accelerate preparations ahead of the new campaign.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Carrick said.
“It’s been, a little bit, different chapters through pre-season and we’ll get everybody together when we get to Dublin over the next couple of days.
“It’ll be great, two more games this week and, again, I’m looking forward to seeing the group develop.”
Manchester United round off their pre-season schedule with fixtures against Leeds United on Wednesday before taking on AC Milan next Saturday, with Carrick hoping to have his squad fully prepared ahead of the Premier League opener.
