Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Plant Quarantine Station (PQS) Assistant Director of TM Sudhakara in Visakhapatnam and a private person, Sunkavalli Satyanarayana in a bribery case.
The CBI registered the instant case on November 6, 2026 against two officials of Plant Quarantine Station (PQS), Visakhapatnam including the accused Assistant Director, three private persons and other unknown persons for alleged demand and acceptance of undue advantage.
It was alleged that the accused Assistant Director demanded Rs.1 lakh for clearance of containers pertaining to a private firm. The CBI laid a trap on Friday and the accused Assistant Director was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a private person.
The bribe amount was recovered from his possession. Both the Assistant Director and private person have been arrested. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused persons located at Visakhapatnam, Faridabad and Thimanapalli Village, Kolar district in Karnataka.
