Celebrity Traitors star Joe Lycett is heading out on a nationwide stand-up tour in 2027/28, but has taken to Instagram to beg fans to snap up tickets for some of his shows after admitting that they ‘aren’t selling well’
Despite appearing in one of Britain’s most popular shows lately, comedian Joe Lycett has been forced to take to Instagram this week, urging supporters to snap up tickets for his gigs that ‘aren’t selling well’. Joe, 38, is embarking on a nationwide stand-up tour entitled “Do You Really Lycett? Is It, Is It Wicked? We’re Lovin’ It, Lovin’ It, Lovin’ It, We’re Lovin’ It Lycett”, launching on April 1, 2027.
The comedian’s opening performance takes place at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre & Opera House, with the tour visiting numerous major cities and prestigious venues, including several nights at London’s Eventim Apollo (June 30 – July 3, 2027) and Soho Theatre Walthamstow (November 18–19, 2027), plus his native Birmingham at the Birmingham Hippodrome (June 2027) and The Alexandra (November 2027).
Additional major destinations include Dublin (Vicar St), Edinburgh (Playhouse), Cardiff (New Theatre), Belfast (Waterfront Hall), Glasgow (King’s Theatre), and Manchester (Palace Theatre).
Yet the Celebrity Traitors star revealed there remain ‘thousands’ of unsold seats for the tour, which continues until February 2028.
Joe posted a reel showing him grinning at the camera while overlay text stated, ‘My management have asked me to make a video telling you that I’m going on tour in 2027/28, because Edinburgh is not selling well. ‘.
The comic then acknowledged that ‘some shows are sold out’ but warned Edinburgh ‘has the potential to be very embarrassing’. He then added more text, stating: ‘Please come to see me in Edinburgh,’ alongside a screenshot revealing a half-empty ticket venue.
‘I have thousands of tickets to sell in Edinburgh. ‘.
He continued in the caption: “Could do with shifting a few in London, Hull and Bradford and all.”
It seemed like his post may have worked, as it went viral – amassing over 23,000 likes.
One fan declared: “I’m sure everyone of your shows will sell out.”
Another responded: “I’m coming!”
A third enthused: “I have tickets for Edinburgh! We are flying over to see you from Prague!”.
While a fourth simply wrote: “FINE. Sold.”
Someone else confessed: “Won’t lie, didn’t know you were playing Edinburgh but I do now.”
Though one person cautioned: “Oasis play that weekend in Scotland.”
Joe announced the tour on Instagram back in June, as he told his 1.5million followers at the time: “Very excited to say I’m going back on tour, my first one since 2022
“It’ll be silly and contain some jokes and stories.”
Joe Lycett’s recent Celebrity Traitors appearance
Joe proved to be one of Celebrity Traitors’ most entertaining players this series of the BBC show, despite his strategy ultimately leading to his downfall.
He competed as a Faithful throughout his entire stint on the programme, though desperately wanted to become a Traitor.
Unlike most Faithfuls who dread recruitment, Joe was outspoken about wanting to be recruited by the Traitors. He confessed his ambition was to “start as a faithful and end as a traitor”.
Joe successfully helped unmask two Traitors during his tenure, but he repeatedly attempted to walk a tightrope between Faithful and Traitor, openly pleading for recruitment. Facing intense pressure and scrutiny at the Round Table, Joe accidentally let slip a telling remark while speaking hypothetically about the Traitors’ recruitment strategy, prompting fellow contestant James Blunt to flag that Joe’s choice of words made him sound very much like a Traitor himself.
With suspicions running high that he had either switched sides or was deliberately undermining the game, the group voted overwhelmingly to banish him in the show’s Friday, October 16 episode.
As he made his exit from the castle, Joe revealed to his fellow contestants that, despite his attempts to defect, he had in fact remained a Faithful throughout.
