Series two of Celebrity Traitors has proved terrestrial TV can still pack a punch when it comes to ratings – and it seems show boss Stephen Lambert is keen to push the envelope even further

Celebrity Traitors’ boss has named the senior royal and A-list actor he wants for the next series. Series two of the Claudia Winkleman-helmed reality show has proved terrestrial TV can still pack a punch when it comes to ratings, pulling in a staggering 15 million viewers per episode in 2026.

Celebrity Traitors‘ success has won it a growing list of famous fans – and an increasingly star-studded line-up – with this year’s cast including the likes of James Blunt, Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant and Miranda Hart.

Stephen Lambert, chief executive of Studio Lambert, which produces Celebrity Traitors, Race Across the World and Gogglebox, seems eager to capitalise on its success and push the envelope even further.

One of the famous names he’d like on the show is Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise. Stephen told The Times: “He would be great. And he loves Britain. We’re right up there in terms of our aspirations for the kind of person that might do the show.”

Stephen would also like to include at least one senior royal in the celebrity line-up, too, having received his OBE from him at Windsor Castle in 2025. He added: “Prince William would be good.

“He said that it was family-appointment television and they were all looking forward to watching it. That was the day of the first episode of Celebrity Traitors last season.”

Earlier this month, Tom’s fondness for the Royal Family was on full display when William and Princess Kate attended the London premiere of his latest film, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Digger.

Kate arrived at the Royal Film Performance charity event in an eye-catching purple gown by Jenny Packham. Tom later shared his thoughts on the Waleses, describing her dress as “stunning”.

He said: “They are amazing people. How dedicated they are to their country and what they give to the world. They’re just beautiful people – and fun!”

Of Kate, Tom added: “She’s very funny. She’s got a great sense of humour. Obviously very intelligent and fun. And her dress, of course both of them, they’re so charismatic. So elegant, that dress that she was wearing – it was stunning.”

Prince William reiterated his love of the BBC series during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on October 23. He revealed that he enjoys “deep-thinking films”, such as those of Christopher Nolan, the director of The Dark Knight trilogy.

“His films are fantastic. The Dark Knight series is psychologically dark and deep and I absolutely love that. He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining.”

William also said he, Kate, and their children, Charlotte and Prince Louis, enjoyed Celebrity Traitors. He added: “I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly.”
