The Boston Celtics already brought in New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson this offseason, though Boston could be interested in doing something similar.

The Celtics and Brad Stevens have always shown they’re willing to do whatever it takes to improve both ends of the floor.
Adding Robinson helps on defense and as an offensive rebounder. As for another Knicks center who could potentially be available, there have been some rumblings that Karl-Anthony Towns could be traded because of his contract situation.
While it seems very unlikely the Knicks would move on from Towns at the time, given they just won a championship, if he becomes disgruntled over his contract situation, anything is possible.
One writer recently suggested the Knicks might not want to enter that second apron, and that paying Towns and others could get them there. The Celtics could deeply benefit from the situation.

“We’ve thrown around names like Steph Curry and Nikola Jokic, but at this point, those seem like pipe dreams, unlikely to leave the only franchises they’ve ever known. But suddenly, a new, unlikely name has emerged as someone who could become available much sooner than anyone could have expected: Karl-Anthony Towns.
“The Knicks are just months away from winning their first championship in ages, and the vibes in New York have been immaculate. But the second apron comes for everyone, and sure enough, before the season has even started, there’s a cloud hanging over the team as they are far apart on a new extension for KAT,” Ben Handler wrote.
A trade for Towns would be very expensive in terms of what they’d have to give up in draft capital, as well as his eventual contract.
However, Towns has also proven throughout his career that he’s worth whatever a team is willing to pay. His offensive production in the system that Joe Mazzulla likes to run, by shooting three-pointers at a high clip, would fit in perfectly with what Towns likes to do as a player.
