Charli XCX just announced the North American tour for her upcoming seventh studio album, Music, Fashion, Film – and is set to donate a portion of tour ticket sales to a trans charity
Charli XCX is set to donate 50% of net profits from a limited number of tickets sold for her new North American tour to a transgender charity.
Charli announced the North American tour for her upcoming seventh studio album, Music, Fashion, Film, which is due to drop on July 24th. She kickstarts the US leg with an opening performance at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on September 11.
Transgender Law Center – an organisation which works to ensure all transgender people are treated with dignity, respect, and the freedom to make their own choices – are set to be the recieve “fifty percent of proceeds from ticket sales in the first five rows of each venue”.
Alongside Charli’s trans charity donation, she’ll also be launching angel tickets – a limited number of $20 (£14) tickets, available to buy in August. These tickets must be bought in pairs, with a max of two per order, then on the day of the show you’ll find out where you’re sat when you pick up your tickets from the venue’s box office.
The Music, Fashion, Film tour will also feature Underscores, a trans woman and hyperpop musician, as the opener for each show.
Charli has yet to reveal her UK tour dates, but promised tickets are on the way. She posted: “Soooo excited to announce the Music, Fashion, Film Tour! Sign up for presale access now through june 10th at 11pm ET at charlixcx.com/tour. can’t wait to party together again, it’s gonna be cute xx/”, then on her Instagram story she wrote: “And, yes UK dates are coming I promise.”
In the meantime, the BRAT singer is scheduled for festival appearances at Reading and Leeds later this year on 28th and 29th of August. As a result, tickets can still be purchased to see the star’s (currently) only UK shows lined up. We’ve got the details below.
