
Hyderabad: Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by Rs 3 per litre each on Friday, marking the first increase in fuel rates in more than four years as oil marketing companies faced mounting losses due to soaring global crude oil prices amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.
The hike came 16 days after Assembly elections concluded in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Fuel prices had remained unchanged throughout the election period despite volatility in international crude markets.
