Chicago Bulls Broadcaster, Stacey King Dies At 59, Reportedly After Suffering A Fall At Home

The basketball world is in shock! A while ago, a legendary NBA player, who was associated with the Chicago Bulls as a broadcaster, passed away. Well, we are talking about Stacey King. For those who do not know, the Chicago Bulls confirmed that the NBA legend passed away at the age of 59. It is worth mentioning Stacey was married to Debi and the couple has four children. Stacey King’s cause of death

On June 7, 2026, the Chicago Bulls took to their X (formerly Twitter) handle to confirm the heartbreaking news of Stacey King’s demise. While they did not reveal much about him, multiple reports claim that the NBA legend died after suffering a fall at his home. A while ago, the chairman of Chicago Bulls, Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement:

“Stacey King was a cherished member of the Bulls family and one of the truly unique personalities in our organization’s history. His connection to Chicago, the Bulls and our fans spanned more than three decades – first as a player and later as the unmistakable voice that helped bring Bulls basketball into the homes of generations of fans. We will miss him deeply and remember the joy, energy, humor, candor and passion he brought to our organization, our broadcasts and our fans every day. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”

Later, the CEO and team president of the Chicago Bulls, Michael Reinsdorf, also shared a heartfelt tribute for Stacey King. In the same, he revealed that Stacey had a unique gift of being able to connect with his fans. He concluded by explaining that Stacey will always be an important part of the team and legacy will continue to shine. As per Hindustan Times, Michael shared:

“Stacey loved being a Bull. You could feel it in everything he did — the way he played, the way he called games, and the way he connected with our fans. He had a unique gift for bringing people together and making every game feel personal. Stacey genuinely cared about people, and he made our organization better. We will miss him dearly, and his impact, memory and legacy will remain part of the Chicago Bulls forever.”

Fans are shocked with Stacey King’s demise

As soon as the X post of the Chicago Bulls grabbed attention on social media, multiple fans shared their heartfelt condolences to him and his family. One user commented, “I swear to God I’m actually crying rn! Literally the voice of the bulls! RIP Stacey and condolences to his family and friends.” Another user penned, “NO! My God! I didn’t realize this until this very moment. What great personal memories with that man. Grieving with his family & his multitude of other friends & fans. Sickening.” A third user wrote, “One of the reason I’ve continued to watch the Bulls over the down years is to hear Stacey. He was so fun and witty. This is such a tragic loss. Beep beep! Drive home safely Chicago.”

Stacey King’s NBA career

Stacey King was one of the most popular basketball players. He was also the most recognisable voice of Chicago Bulls. If reports are to be believed, Stacey started playing basketball during his college years and later he was selected by Chicago Bulls in 1989 NBA Draft. While he is best-known for his performances with the Chicago Bulls, he played for multiple teams like Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.

After his retirement as a player, Stacey King joined the same team, Chicago Bulls in 2006 as a broadcaster. And soon he became a fan-favourite. Netizens loved him for his energetic personality, witty humour and one-liners. Despite being a popular NBA figure, Stacey King managed to keep his personal life away from media attention. As per reports, Stacey had four sons, Erick, Garrett, Brandon and Mason.
