A child is fighting for life in hospital following a crash on a major highway south of Brisbane.
The primary school-aged child was travelling in a Nissan station wagon when it crashed with a Subaru sedan on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Gleneagle – about an hour south-west of Brisbane’s CBD – about 2.15pm on Monday.
The child was flown with life-threatening injuries from the crash site to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
A woman in her 50s in a critical condition was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, while a second adult in a life-threatening condition was taken to Logan Hospital.
A teenage girl in a stable condition was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
The highway is closed in both directions at the intersection with Gould Hill Road and Outlook Boulevard, and is expected to remain closed for some time.
