Chloe Burrows has opened up about a very unexpected career she had before finding fame on Love Island, as well as her upcoming appearance on Prime Video’s Would You Rather?
Long before Love Island fame, Chloe Burrows was carving out a different career. While she’s now known for her appearance on the reality show and quick wit, the 30-year-old is heading back to her roots.
Chloe, from Bicester, has since appeared on shows such as Scared of the Dark and Celebs Go Dating, and also presents for Kiss FM. Chloe will also appear on the Prime series, Would You Rather: Decide to Survive, alongside the likes of Max Fosh, Chunkz and Bambino Becky.
The show will see two teams tackle some real-life challenges, based on hypothetical Would You Rather decisions – with the three words being the deciding factor to what somebody eats or if they go home. “Would You Rather was absolutely amazing,” Chloe told the Mirror.
She added: “It’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever filmed. I had literally the best time in my whole life. I have never laughed that hard. I can’t say any more than that, which I know is boring, but it was amazing. It was incredible. Everyone there was amazing. It was great.”
This year, Chloe will make her England debut in the upcoming Soccer Aid for UNICEF match. But it’s not her first time on the pitch – she actually played on a semi-professional level before jetting off to Majorca for Love Island back in 2021.
Speaking about her skills, she said: “Oh, my God, I played from when I was, like, six, seven years old, and I trained twice a week, played every weekend. Literally, football was my life, and then I went semi- pro when I was a bit older.
“But then I went a different route, which led me to Love Island, but this is like a massive full-circle moment. My dad cannot believe this. Like, he won’t believe it.” Chloe went on to explain that her excited dad will be in the stands watching her make her debut this weekend.
Earlier this week, we revealed that Chloe’s Kiss FM co-star, Tyler West, was excited to see her on the pitch after she had shown him her hidden skills.
Through laughter, Chloe told us: “Tyler West is setting me up for failure, that’s what he’s doing. I’m just really hoping that my skills from years and years ago kick into play as soon as I kick the ball. I’m not gonna say anything else. I feel like I’m overpromising already, and I don’t wanna underdeliver, so just watch this space.”
But while she’s excited to take part, Chloe admits that she’s full of nerves. She explained: “I am the most excited and the most nervous, I think I’ve been in many, many, many years. I actually can’t believe it’s happening. It’s very, very surreal. So I feel like until the 31st of May, I’m trying not to think about it too much, but I’m very excited but beyond nervous.”
And before signing on the dotted line, Chloe had been manifesting, taking part, after Kiss FM posted on social media that she would be on their dream lineup. Laughing, she explained: “Yeah, been manifesting it. No, I’ll tell you, the day I left Love Island, 5.5 years ago, I said to my team, I said, ‘Please get me on Soccer Aid, that’s what I want to do’, so maybe I did manifest it, I did, yeah!”
Having found fame on Love Island, it’s fair to say that Chloe’s online reach is beyond impressive, with people of all ages following her across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. This is something she’s extremely proud of: her ability to influence people through her charity affiliations.
“I think it’s one of the most important things I can do with my platform, especially someone with such a varied audience,” she said, adding: “It’s just the best message that you can spread. To do good for other people and with a massive event like Soccer Aid for UNICEF, it gets so many eyes on it. So a pairing with me and them, I think it’s just so important.
“For every age that follows me, it’s gonna resonate with everyone cause they’re familiar with it anyway, and then it’s almost like hammering the message across with me. It’s amazing. I hope we can raise even more money for UNICEF this year, to help children around the world.”
And this year, as Soccer Aid celebrates its 20th anniversary, Chloe says while she’s excited to take part, she knows how fortunate she is to play a small part in changing the lives of people across the world, even if she ends up passing the ball just once. She said: “The impact is absolutely insane, and it gets bigger and bigger each year. Soccer Aid for UNICEF has raised over 120 million so far like can you actually imagine how much money that is? 20 years in, like it’s bigger and bigger. So even if I can just do a small part, going on the pitch and passing the ball once, then I hope I’m doing my bit and all my supporters can see it.”
Soccer Aid for UNICEF takes place on Sunday, 31st May at the London Stadium. Adult tickets start from £20 and juniors from £10: socceraid.org.uk/tickets
