Christine McGuinness has opened up on how she was left feeling “physically sick” after seeing her ex-husband, Paddy McGuinness, “with other women” while they were still married. The model and comedian split in 2022, but she’s only just recently made the revelation as she spoke out about their 11-year marriage.
Although the two have finalised their divorce, they still live in the same home for the well-being of their children. Both have since revealed they’ve ventured back onto the dating scene.
Speaking about their split recently, Christine disclosed that something “unforgivable” had led to their ultimate separation. Now, in a new interview, she’s revealed that she no longer cares about Paddy’s dating life.
Reflecting on the breakdown of her marriage, she told The Sun: “I’m not sure what his dating life is like, and I don’t really care. I’ve got enough going on. If I was going to be heartbroken about it, then I wouldn’t have divorced him.
“I’m not being disrespectful, it’s a heartbreaking situation, of course. But I’d already seen him all over the press with other women when I was married to him, so it’s not going to hurt me seeing it.”
Most recently, she opened up on The Shizzio Show. “It was a difficult time. It wasn’t something that, you know, I just decided to do overnight or that we chose to do,” she explained.
“We tried, and yeah, there just, unfortunately there was no repairing it, you know? I’ll always, always love him as the father of the children, and I still live at home with him, which says a lot.
“We separated three years ago and we are completely divorced, and we live in separate parts of the house, but we share a family show.”
Paddy was pictured linking arms with All Saints pop star Nicole Appleton in 2018 following a late night out in London’s Soho. In her 2021 autobiography, A Beautiful Nightmare, Christine opened up on just how much seeing those pictures hurt her.
“I felt physically sick. I ran to the toilet to vomit. Still to this day, I can remember that absolutely awful pit-of-your-stomach feeling,” the 38-year-old penned.
After Paddy refused to immediately pick up the phone once the photos were released, Christine ignored his calls throughout the following day until he came home from London.
Despite the pair’s split in 2022, Paddy was also pictured with TV host Kirsty Gallacher on another night out in Soho in 2023. Even though the co-parents are dating again, it doesn’t seem like Christine has much intel into her ex-husband’s affairs.
