Cindy Crawford’s lookalike daughter Kaia Gerber went out in New York – and the resemblance is certainly obvious. Kaia was seen at the afterparty for The Shards in the early hours of this morning wearing a black dress and shades.
The legendary supermodel, 60, is mother to actress Kaia, 24, with her husband Rande Gerber. The pair posed together at her RE/DONE x Kaia Gerber ‘Short/Cuts’ Launch Event in Los Angeles in May.
Cindy, who famously modelled denim shorts and white top for her 1991 Pepsi commercial, was in all-blue as she rocked double denim for the occasion. She put an arm around Kaia, who opted for similar jeans and a white top and donned a pair of shades as she flashed a huge smile whilst she cosied up to her mother.
Cindy was famously part of the Big Four group of fashion models in the 1980s and 1990s, posing alongside Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington posing for some of what became some of the most era-defining photos.
Meanwhile, Kaia began her professional modelling career at the age of just 10 when she posed for Young Versace, and then made her runaway debut in 2017.
As an actress, Kaia made her film debut in 2023 with the black comedy Bottoms, and more recently has featured in Outcome and Mother Mary. On TV, she had a recurring role in Palm Royale and is due to shtar in the upcoming series The Shards but has also appeared as herself on programmes such as Saturday Night Live and RuPaul’s Drag Race.
As Kaia’s film career began to take off, Cindy spoke out about the ups and downs and fame, describing how it felt to watch her daughter become a celebrity in an age of social media.
She said: “Like anything, there’s good and bad sides to it. The good thing is you have direct communication with your audience. The bad thing can be, it’s a lot of pressure and you see a lot of snarky comments on there.
Speaking to People, she added: “I’m learning along with her about that stuff, but I feel like she seems like she has a very good head on her shoulders and is figuring out how she wants to create that private work-public balance.”
Meanwhile, Kaia previously admitted that because she grew up in luxury, there were a lot of simple things she missed out on in her early life.
She told American Vogue: “I found myself in situations where I was, like, I actually don’t have the life experience that I need to handle this. It could be something as small as knowing how to take the bus.
“Or, I remember in Paris, my driver had to check me into my hotel room – I couldn’t even do it on my own. My dad would call me when I’d be in Paris and be like, ‘Do you want to come home?’ At the time I thought I was fine, but now I look back to 16-year-old Kaia and I’m like, ‘Come home!”
