Cindy Crawford’s son Presley Gerber shared his passion for modelling in his final post on Instagram.
The 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber died on Sunday. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that Presley died whilst checked into a rehab facility.
His cause of death is yet to be confirmed, and an autopsy is yet to be completed. A representative for Cindy, her husband Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia Gerber confirmed his death.
In a statement, they said: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Presley’s last post was just six weeks ago in early August when he shared some of his modelling snaps for Vuori Clothing. Whilst the comment section is now full of fans and friends paying tribute to Presley, comments from six weeks ago pointed out how happy and healthy he looked.
One wrote: “Always the distinguished gentleman. So glad to see you so happy!” whilst another added: “You look great and healthy.” Following his death, tributes have flooded in for Presley.
“My heart is broken for your family. Rest in peace,” one fan shared, whilst another added: “You wanted to help others through your own struggles, and that will never be forgotten. Rest easy now P.G.” A third shared: “Your mental health Mondays helped me. Really missed them when you stopped.”
A fourth shared: “I should’ve checked up on you more. I am so sorry I didn’t. I love you bro,” with a fifth adding: “The bravery, courage, strength, and humility you walked in to share your fight.. You will never be forgotten Presley.”
Before his death, Presley had posted about undergoing an Ibogaine treatment in Mexico. Ibogaine is a psychoactive indole alkaloid derived from the root bark of the Tabernanthe iboga shrub and is used experimentally for withdrawal symptoms and cravings for substances such as alcohol, opioids and cocaine.
Research has also been conducted on it over its potential to help those suffering from PTSD. At the time, Cindy wrote: “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!”
Rande also added: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”
Presley was the only son of Cindy and Rande and had struggled with his mental health as well as substance and drug abuse.
