City to Host Global Medical Tourism Event in June

Hyderabad:Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has announced that the city will host an International Medical Tourism event in June, aiming to position the city as a global healthcare destination. Representatives from Africa, Asia and West Asia will be invited to participate.

Reviewing preparations with health and tourism officials, the minister directed departments to coordinate and ensure the event’s success. Delegates will be taken on visits to major government and private hospitals, including Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences, Osmania General Hospital and Gandhi Hospital.

He said the state plans to host at least one such event every year, following directions from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The government is also planning dedicated international patient wards with 50 beds in select hospitals to attract global patients and boost revenue.

Separately, the minister announced that appointment orders for 2,322 nursing officers will be issued on May 12, marking International Nurses Day. Officials also informed him that recruitment of assistant professors in medical colleges is expected to be completed by May 15.
