At least 11 people were injured after a violent confrontation broke out at a gurdwara in Moers, near Duisburg in Germany, prompting a major police response.
According to reports, more than 40 individuals were involved in the clash at the Sikh place of worship on Sunday. Videos circulating online, reportedly recorded inside the gurdwara, shows two groups engaged in a physical altercation.
The videos contain disturbing visuals, with some participants allegedly using sharp weapons, including knives and kirpans. Authorities said at least one suspect has been detained, while investigations are ongoing to determine how the violence began and who was responsible.
According to reports, the incident may be linked to a long-running internal dispute within the gurdwara community, centred on control of the management committee, influence, and financial disagreements.
Following the outbreak of violence, several worshippers fled the premises in panic.
