A Class VIII student sustained critical injuries after allegedly jumping from the terrace of a four-storey private school building at Satyanarayanapuram in Vijayawada on Thursday.
According to Satyanarayanapuram police, the girl is suspected to have taken the step fearing poor performance in her unit tests. She fell onto the branches of a tree before hitting the ground.
She was rushed to a private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
