Former Yankee Clint Frazier has gone viral for his response to Emmanuel Acho’s controversial WNBA take.
The outfielder posted on X after Acho, a former NFL player turned analyst, said on an episode of the “Speakeasy” podcast that the league would be better off without Caitlin Clark.
“Not surprising at all …. in 2020 our entire Yankees team was told we had a mandatory meeting we had to attend — that meeting was hosted by him,” Frazier said.
“Should’ve heard what he had to say to our team.”
The post now has over 2.6 million views with hundreds of people, including former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, asking for a deeper explanation.
When pushed for details, Frazier said the team held a Zoom meeting with Acho.
He wrote to one X user: “buddy. we had a meeting 🤣🤣🤣 it wasn’t a presentation hahaha — were you there for the meeting ?
The post was a response to Acho’s comment that the WNBA no longer needs Clark.
“The WNBA would be better without Caitlin Clark, because she is a bigger distraction than she is an additive,” Acho said. … “Caitlin got the necessary eyes there, but now that the eyes are there, we don’t necessarily need her anymore.”
Clark and the WNBA have been back in the headlines recently due to an incident in which Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas hit Clark in the throat while fighting for a loose ball.
While she was later suspended, Thomas did not receive a foul on the court, raising questions about how protected Clark should be.
“It was egregious. The fact that it was a no-call … You got to call it,” Fever coach Stephanie White said after the game. “You’re coming in here aware of what happened two nights ago and that (expletive) still happens? Absolutely unacceptable.”

Frazier played for the Yankees from 2017-21 before moving on to the Cubs and the White Sox.
The Yankees finished the 2020 regular season with a 33-27 record, placing them second in the AL East.
He has been critical of the Yankees since his career ended.
