HYDERABAD: BRS party working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday said the drought situation arose due to the incompetence of the Congress governance and negligence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. “This drought has been imposed on people by Revanth Reddy’s own failures. And even today the government remains indifferent while farmers struggle severely due to a lack of irrigation water, power supply issues, and a shortage of urea,” he said.

Addressing a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan here, where Congress and BJP leaders from the Nirmal constituency joined the BRS, Rama Rao said even though water was flowing in the rivers, it was being allowed to drain into the sea instead of being used for agriculture. “This is a clear failure by the government to provide available water to the farmers,” he said.

Criticising the Chief Minister for “prioritising trips to Delhi over addressing the hardships faced by farmers,” Rama Rao said Revanth Reddy was not a “regular” Chief Minister, but rather a “renewal” Chief Minister who could stay in power only “if he pays his EMIs to the leadership in Delhi. While farmers may not receive their Rythu Bandhu payments, the ‘Rahul Bandhu’ is always delivered on time.”

“People are eagerly awaiting the next elections, hoping to bring KCR back as Chief Minister, who ensured 24-hour free electricity and irrigation facilities,” he said.
