Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday conducted a review meeting with the ministers’ committee on the progress of MoUs signed during the Visakhapatnam Partnership Summit and the projects approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB).
The Chief Minister directed officials to establish a single-portal dashboard to monitor project grounding, approvals and employment generation, while fixing September 2026 as the deadline for grounding all approved industrial projects across AP.
He issued directions to the ministers’ committee headed by IT minister Nara Lokesh to closely monitor the implementation of agreements and ensure the speedy grounding of projects across the state.
Reviewing agreements signed during the partnership summit and projects approved by the SIPB, Naidu stressed that AP should emerge as a national model for ‘speed of doing business’ through faster implementation and efficient coordination among departments.
Lokesh presented the status of MoUs, progress of projects and future action plans. He said AP had secured 756 projects worth Rs.21.64 lakh crore during the last 23 months, with a potential to generate 21.20 lakh jobs. He also said that a dedicated portal for MSME approvals and related services would soon be launched to simplify industrial clearances.
Naidu directed the officials to give top priority to tourism projects in land allocation, followed by IT companies. He suggested the development of innovative multi-purpose buildings catering to tourism and IT sectors and instructed officials to prepare plans to transform Suryalanka beach into a “Goa Plus” tourism destination. He also sought an early master plan for Bapatla beach development.
Temple tourism circuit: The CM called for fast-tracking a Temple Tourism Circuit linking 21 major temples across the state to boost pilgrim tourism.
He instructed officials to ensure IT projects begin operations within 18 months and stressed the need to strongly encourage semiconductor and electronics component manufacturing industries.
Highlighting the state’s green energy ambitions, Naidu directed officials to prioritise transmission and solar rooftop projects to help Andhra Pradesh rapidly achieve its target of 160gw green energy generation. Officials informed him that nearly 99gw worth of renewable energy projects are already under construction.
The CM also emphasised the speedy establishment of waste-to-energy plants to promote a circular economy and called for continuous engagement with industrialists to ensure that 46 food processing projects become operational by December 2027.
Naidu sought an action plan to accelerate shipbuilding centres, ports, airports and inland waterways projects, pointing out the vast potential of the shipbuilding sector. He also stressed the need to expand healthcare sector investments in the state.
Referring to land acquisition, the CM said Andhra Pradesh had largely avoided major disputes for the past three decades and expressed confidence that projects benefiting farmers, industries and the government would face minimal resistance.
Officials informed him that land acquisition for projects such as BPCL, Indosol and Sri City Phase-II was progressing rapidly, with nearly 2,000 acres for the BPCL project registered within just three days.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure industries adopt environment-friendly technologies and prevent pollutants from entering coastal waters. Stressing clean conditions at beach destinations like Suryalanka and Mypadu, he asked departments to act swiftly on escrow account mechanisms and implementation of the MSME Right to Business Act.
Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Kandula Durgesh, T.G. Bharat, Kondapalli Srinivas, BC Janardhan Reddy, chief secretary G Sai Prasad and senior officials attended the meeting.
