HYDERABAD: Cyberabad municipal corporation (CMC) held a meeting with IIIT Hyderabad and SentinelIQ (a company) to discuss the implementation of a continuous structural health/ stability monitoring system for bridges and flyovers within the corporation limits.
The meeting focused on leveraging advanced sensor-based technologies and data analytics to continuously monitor the structural health of bridges and flyovers. The proposed system aims to assess the structural condition, estimate the service life and ageing of critical infrastructure and establish a systematic structural audit and monitoring mechanism.
Officials discussed the use of real-time monitoring technologies that can help detect structural changes at an early stage, enabling timely maintenance and preventive interventions. Such a technology-driven approach is expected to enhance public safety, improve asset management and support informed decision-making for infrastructure maintenance according to CMC officials.
CMC commissioner G. Srijana said that technology-driven monitoring systems will play a significant role in improving the maintenance and resilience of bridges and flyovers across Cyberabad.
