Some reports claim that Ted’s brain disorder was the reason behind him leading a private life in his final years.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the founder of CNN, Ted Turner unexpectedly passed away at the age of 87. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by CNN. In his final years, Ted Turner was dealing with a few health issues. Apart from being diagnosed with a brain disorder, in 2025 Ted Turner was also hospitalised due to pneumonia. Some reports believe that the brain disorder was similar to Alzheimer’s disease. Later, the CEO of CNN spoke about Ted and shared:

For those who do not know, Ted Turner had been married thrice. Reportedly, he first got married to Judy Nye from 1960 to 1964. Later, he tied the knot with Janie Smith; however, parted ways in 1988. In 1991, he found love in Jane Fonda and got married to her, only to separate in 2001.

After his divorce with Jane Fonda, Ted Turner was linked with multiple women. He once also shared that he was once in a relationship with four women. If reports are to be believed, soon after the divorce, Ted was in a relationship with Frederique D’Arragon. They were friends for a long time before getting involved romantically.
