Coleen Rooney’s camp have reportedly call a ‘second win’ over nemesis Rebekah Vardy following a poor reception to the WAGs’ reality TV show
Coleen Rooney’s public feud with Rebekah Vary was one of the most talked-about court cases in showbiz history. Back in 2022, Rebekah, who is married to the former Leicester City star Jamie Vardy, took legal action against Coleen after she was accused of being solely responsible for leaking stories from Coleen’s personal Instagram account.
Coleen, who is married to former Premier League footballer Wayne Rooney won the case and Rebekah was ordered by a judge to pay legal costs. But now, whispers have been circulating surrounding Rebekah’s reality TV show, following in the footsteps of Coleen’s Disney+ documentary, which reached a record high viewing figure.
According to The Sun, Coleen’s legal team had watched the show looking for any grounds for litigation but ended up labelling it a “yawn-fest”.
A source told the publication: “Coleen’s friendship groups have been abuzz with chatter – with her pals saying some unkind things about the show being ‘boring’ and sharing some disparaging tweets they could find about it on social media.
“It feels like a second win for Coleen who won the court case and has now won the TV series ‘war’. She doesn’t think the reaction to Becky’s ITV show has been anywhere near as good as her own Disney+ series, so it’s a win-win.”
On the back of her win, Coleen has seen her career soar to dizzy heights. When she married Wayne in 2008, she took more of a backseat and raised their children.
But now after the success of her own TV show and her appearance on I’m A Celebrity, Coleen is becoming the main breadwinner. Her Disney+ show alone attracted a viewing figure of 27.37million viewers.
Rebekah’s ITV show focused on the raid on her £2million Italian home by an armed robbery gang who stole £80,000 of jewellery. It also followed the couple’s transition from the UK to Lake Garda on the back of Jamie’s transfer.
On the back of the launch of the first episode of Coleen’s documentary, Rebekah said told the publication: “It’s over, it’s done. I’m not going to keep living in the past. I’m so f***ing bored of it. I don’t have any negative feelings towards her whatsoever. Some people might go ‘oh that’s bulls***’. Well, whatever, that’s your opinion.”
She added: “If I saw her, if I bumped into her, people assume it would be handbags at dawn, birkins at dawn, a WAG war… but it wouldn’t. My peace is too important. I’ve got no idea what she thinks of me but I’m not bothered. Let’s leave it there or otherwise it will get messy.”
