Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s son, Cass, looks to be following in his footballer dad’s footsteps when it comes to his love of the game. But when it comes to style, safe to say he’s getting his inspiration elsewhere.
With the summer half-term just starting, Wayne and Coleen’s youngest son has wasted no time in getting himself a hilarious haircut for the summer.
Cass copied the iconic Ronaldo haircut from the 2002 World Cup, where the Brazilian legend shaved his hair, leaving one tiny bit at the front resembling a fringe. Ronaldo, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, opted for the historic haircut in an effort to distract the media away from his performance, instead focusing the attention on the bizarre hairdo.
The eight-year-old’s mum also took to her Instagram story to share the news that Cass, and his team had also won their summer league as he posed holding the silver trophy.
Posing in his football shirt, Coleen captioned the snap of Cass: “Summer holidays… hairstyle fun!!!” Coleen also shared on her Instagram story that Cass and his team had won the summer league as he posed holding the silver trophy.
Wayne and Coleen recently expressed joy over their son Kai signing a scholarship deal with Manchester United, which ended the club’s ban on his sponsored boots.
The 16-year-old, who has been part of the club’s youth ranks since the age of 11, penned his deal to mark a huge moment in his footballing career, allowing him to follow in his legendary dad’s footsteps at the club.
The scholarship will enable Kai to continue studying while pursuing a career in professional football, and to sign a contract when they turn 17.
Kai, given his age, can no longer play for United’s under-16s side, having already turned 16 before the cutoff on August 31.
He will now take a permanent step up in age groups, and in doing so, he will also no longer be banned from wearing his sponsored Puma football boots.
Manchester United have a club policy whereby players in the U16s or younger are not permitted to wear sponsored boots. Instead, every player has to sport the same footwear.
Speaking on a podcast last year, dad Wayne explained: “He’s obviously with Puma but when he plays for Manchester United U16s, something which I really like is he can’t wear his Puma boots.
“All the academy have to wear the same boots. They do it because there’s people from areas where they can’t afford certain boots, so I think it’s really good.
“But he’s played for the U18s a few times and he can then wear his Puma boots. He is doing well to be fair to him.”
