Southeastern Oklahoma State University defensive end Dylan Sebock was killed in a rollover crash early Thursday in Texas. The driver, Sebock’s teammate and linebacker De’Taurean Johnson, was arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge.
The family of Sebock confirmed to KXII 12 that Sebock, 23, was killed in the crash. Sherman, Texas, police officers responded to several calls about a one-vehicle rollover crash at just before 1 a.m. on Thursday morning. The two occupants were ejected from the vehicle, with Sebock being found about 15 feet west of the service road on U.S. Highway 75 where the crash occurred.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson was found lying in the roadway before fleeing on foot after the first responding officer appeared. He was later detained and is now being held in the Grayson County Jail after being released from the local hospital for medical care.
Investigators from Sherman’s Critical Accident Investigation Team responded to the crash and collected evidence establishing that Johnson was driving while intoxicated.
Southeastern released a statement about the accident.

“Southeastern Oklahoma State University is aware of a serious vehicle accident involving two of our students,” the statement read. “We are deeply saddened to confirm that one student has died as a result of the accident. The other student was hospitalized. Our hearts are with their families, friends, teammates, and all those affected by this tragic loss. The University is providing support and resources to members of our campus community who have been impacted. Additional information will be shared when appropriate.”
The Sebock family released its own statement.
“There is a hole in our family that can never be filled,” they said. “No parent should ever have to bury their child. No family should have to receive the news that someone they love isn’t coming home because another person made the decision to drink and drive.”
