Much of the focus ahead of the NFL trade deadline is on Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor, but could QB Daniel Jones potentially be on the move?
He is one player with the trade deadline looming who is going to be on Jeremy Fowler’s radar in the coming days.
“Daniel Jones is earmarked and on my radar for this weekend,” Fowler began, “because people around the league I’ve spoken to, and even some people with the Colts, believe that Daniel Jones should be trying to get out of Indy, or maybe wants to because it’s a bit of a sinking ship there, rebuild, questions about whether he should be benched every week.
“So if there is a quarterback deal to be had, my sense is that Jones wouldn’t mind being a part of it. Now Minnesota, old place where he played, he’s got friends there, but they got stuff to worry about trying to get Carson Wentz ready for Monday Night. A quick turnaround for the trade deadline.”
If a team is going to take a swing at acquiring a quarterback, the Vikings certainly seem like a prime candidate, given they have a championship-caliber defense but have struggled to produce on offense.

Jones’ familiarity with Kevin O’Connell’s scheme after spending some time there could help him acclimate quickly.
This season, Jones has struggled with turnovers, throwing nine interceptions while also losing a few fumbles. He’s also completed just 60% of his passes and is averaging only 5.8 yards per pass attempt, well below last season’s figure of 8.1 yards per throw.
However, Shane Steichen pointed out this week that while Jones has to improve, so does the play around him.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10.
