Commonwealth Nations Explore Longevity, Regenerative Medicine

Vijayawada: The Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA), London, hosted an international programme on longevity and regenerative medicine, bringing together medical professionals and representatives from several countries to discuss cooperation in healthy ageing and advanced healthcare.

The programme was led by CMA London chairman Dr Prabhu Kumar Challagali, Global Ambassador for Climate Change Mitigation, and CMA president Professor Dr Jayalal.

Discussions focused on longevity medicine, regenerative medicine and improving the quality of life of ageing populations.

Experts associated with the American Board of Longevity and Regenerative Medicine, as well as institutions in Turkey, London and other locations, shared their expertise and explored opportunities for future collaboration.

Liver health, disease prevention, treatment and research were among the key topics, with representatives associated with the Egyptian Liver Council, American Liver Council and other international organisations taking part.

The programme examined opportunities for cooperation among the 56 Commonwealth nations, including joint research, technology and knowledge exchange, access to advanced medical services, capacity building and funding for public health initiatives.

Memoranda of Understanding were signed with international organisations to facilitate future collaboration in longevity medicine, regenerative medicine and liver health, with the stated objective of developing sustainable healthcare initiatives across Commonwealth countries.

Participants included Dr Rajesh, Dr Sivaprakashan, Dr Sumathi Lakshmi, former CMA president Dr Murugaraj and Arul Raj.

Commonwealth Secretariat senior director Suresh Yadav and Mir Nawab Ali, associated with the Consulate/Office of the Honorary Consul General of Kazakhstan, also attended.
