One of the 2026 summer transfer window’s most intriguing moves has been officially announced.
Francesco Di Fulvio, the winner of the 2023 Total Player Award, moved from Pro Recco to Barceloneta, the reigning European champion.
Di Fulvio said goodbye to Recco, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy. Wearing the Pro Recco cap, he won 10 Italian championships, 10 Italian Cups, 4 Champions League titles, 4 European Super Cups, and 1 Euro Cup.
He was the captain for several seasons.
Before joining Pro Recco in 2014, he played for the youth team in his hometown Pescara, then Roma Vis Nova, Florentia, and Brescia.
Di Fulvio made his debut for Italy in 2010, while playing for Florentia. His medal tally with the Italian national team includes the Olympic bronze in 2016, the World Championship title in 2019, two silver medals from the World Championships, etc. He has won nine medals representing Italy at major competitions.
His last international game for Pro Recco was the Champions League final in Malta, where the Italian side lost to Di Fulvio’s new club, Barceloneta. But the transfer was almost agreed before that game.
