ADILABAD: AICC observer for Vote Bachao… Desh Bachao programme C.D. Meyyappan on Tuesday asked sarpanches, ward members, leaders, and active party workers to strive hard and protect the votes of genuine persons during SIR (Special Intensive Revision), thereby protecting the constitution and democracy.
He asserted that the ruling BJP-led government cannot prevent active Congress leaders and cadres from reaching Delhi and participate in the demonstration against SIR demanding for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on November 1.
Addressing a meeting in Adilabad, Meyyappan alleged that the CEC is wrongly removing the votes of a few sections of the society in a fraudulent manner. He underlined that this has led to academicians and activists extending support to leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi’s fight against the Vote Chori and SIR.
The AICC observer asked active Congress party cadres to reach Delhi at any cost by using any mode of transport, as reaching the destination and fighting against SIR is crucial for everyone.
TGPCC observer for Vote Bachao… Desh Bachao R. Shravan Rao and coordinator for SIR Kotnak Tirupati called upon the party cadres to reach Delhi and protect the right to vote. They said a vote is important for individuals and communities as a whole to protect the Constitution and their constitutional rights.
