Cristiano Ronaldo’s romance with Georgina Rodriguez reads like something out of a fairy tale. The handsome footballer, who dated a flurry of famous faces as one of the world’s top sports stars, had been lpaying the field for years.
After hitting all the headlines with models, including Irina Shayk – and Hollyoaks star, Gemma Atkinson, the former footballer, 41, was surprisingly single when he strolled into a Gucci store in Madrid, where Georgina, 32, was working as a sales assistant 10 years ago.
Georgina, who reveals in her documentary that she felt an instant “spark” after seeing the sports star – before revealing she used to get the bus to work and leave work in Ronaldo’s £1.5m Bugatti – is now rumoured to be marrying the footballer. Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid, earning about £10 an hour when her life changed forever. In her Netflix documentary, Soy Georgina, which translates to I’m Georgina, she says she was supposed to leave work at 5:00 PM, but a colleague asked her to stay 30 minutes late to help a VIP client. When she finally walked out the door, Ronaldo strolled in with his son and some friends.
According to the former sales assistant, the attraction was “instant”, as Georgina described feeling “butterflies” and being too shy to even make eye contact with the global star.
Cristiano would go on to woo his future partner in style and would pick Georgina up from work in his £1.5m Bugatti – after she had arrived for at the shop on the bus.
Starting a family
After a year of dating in secret, the couple made their first public appearance in January 2017 at The Best FIFA Football Awards, confirming speculation that they were a couple.
In June the same year, they welcomed twins Mateo and Eva via surrogacy and then five months later, Georgina gave birth to their daughter, Alana Martina.
In 2022, the couple welcomed twins, however their baby boy tragically died during childbirth, while his sister, Bella Esmeralda, survived.
Georgina is also a mother to Ronaldo’s oldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.

After nine years together and with their family complete, fans were desperate to know when Georgina and Ronaldo would marry.
After years of dating high-profile women, it seemed Georgina had given the star everything he ever wanted. However, in an interview with Marca last year, the Portuguese admitted he hadn’t yet married Georgina because he hadn’t felt the “click”.
Addressing years of speculation about his relationship with the former sales assistant, Ronaldo insisted that while marriage is certain, it will happen only when the timing “feels absolutely right.”
“It will happen. 1,000%,” Ronaldo mused. “But I’m waiting for the perfect moment, what I call ‘the click’.”

After years of speculation, Georgina finally sent her legion of loyal followers into a frenzy last year when she posted a close-up of her left hand adorned with a humongous oval-cut diamond ring.
The delighted influencer captioned the post, “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,” confirming speculations that she was engaged to the footballing legend.
Getting married, finally?
Recent reports from various Portuguese newspapers have suggested that Ronaldo and Georgina’s may be getting married on Saturday.
The speculation came after an alleged invitation, purportedly for the couple’s nuptials, was leaked to the Portuguese programme ‘V+Fama‘.
The invite reportedly read: “Together with their families, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez request the honour of your presence at the celebration of their marriage.”
However, while some versions of the invite said the ceremony would begin at 2:00 p.m., others said it would start at 5:00 p.m, leading some to speculate if it was real.
After the invite went viral, a family statement was released, unequivocally denying that Cristiano and Georgina would be marrying this coming weekend. But just hours earlier, Georgina posted a snap of her and Ronaldo wearing matching rings.
