When you scan through the revamped menu at Le Café, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre in Kondapur, you can think of it as a relaxed conversation between French café classics and Hyderabad’s unmistakable love for bold, familiar flavours.
The space already sets the mood. With its European sidewalk-style deli vibe, bookshelves, photo frames, and corners that invite you to relax, it feels easy. The kind of place where you can sit with a coffee or just grab something and head out. That’s exactly the intent behind the revamp. As Pastry Chef Prince Kumar puts it, “People can come, have a bite, grab and go. They don’t even need to sit and eat.”
The menu reflects that thinking. It’s quick, unfussy, but not boring. The croissant sandwiches are clearly having a moment here. The masala omelette version with fries and garlic butter is indulgent in the best way, while the bocconcini and tomato option keeps things lighter but still satisfying. “We offer omelette with a croissant,” the chef explains, pointing to how they have tweaked classics rather than overhauling them.
There’s also a noticeable shift towards conscious eating. The organic quinoa salad is clean, fresh, and vegan, something Pastry Chef Prince Kumar says is very intentional, “A lot of people are turning vegan these days.” The classic Caesar salad, on the other hand, sticks to what it does best, simple, crisp, and comforting.
Then come the local twists. The Guntur chicken pizza brings heat to an otherwise Italian staple, while snacky favourites like samosa pav, kadai paneer puffs and Guntur chicken puffs keep things rooted. For a dose of nostalgia, the Backbencher, basically a dressed-up school-time potato patty burger, hits the spot. “Like we used to eat in schools,” he adds, quickly.
If there’s one thing to not miss, it’s the Tiger Boom, chargrilled chicken tikka tucked into a soft bun with wedges and cheese dip, recommends the chef himself. It’s messy, filling, and easily the crowd-pleaser here.
Desserts stay close to home too. The khubani ka semifreddo is a clever fusion, and the shahi tukda doesn’t try to reinvent itself, it just delivers. Pair that with their signature hot chocolate, rich and smooth, and you are done.
Overall, the menu isn’t over the top. It balances French technique with local flavour, making it as easy to grab a quick bite as it is to sit back and unwind.
