Adam Peaty’s mum Caroline found out about his and Holly Ramsay’s baby news in a formal text message.
The Olympic swimmer is estranged from his parents and uninvited them to his wedding in December. When Holly and AdAm came to announce their pregnancy at the weekend, it’s been revealed that Adam’s family including mum Caroline received a simple and ‘formal text’ to tell them.
Holly and Adam are expecting their first child together, a half-sibling for Adam’s five-year-old son George, who he shares with former partner Eirianedd ‘Eiri’ Munro.
According to a source, Caroline said: “I am happy for them. News of a new baby is always welcome.” However, the source says the rift between Adam and his family is “beyond healing”.
Caroline was away when news broke of Adam and Holly’s happy news and reportedly received a ‘brief and to the point’ text about the news just as Holly posted the couple’s news on social media.
A source told the Mail of how the estranged family found out ab out the news: “Caroline was on holiday. She received a very formal text. We don’t want to divulge the content but it was brief and to the point. It was sent as Holly posted the news on Instagram. There was no happy gathering, no phone call just a brief mobile message.”
Last year, ahead of Adam’s wedding to Holly, Caroline said her son was “under Gordon’s clutches”.
“I know he feels I am not good enough for his new family. He’s under Gordon’s clutches. I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular, it’s their group, and it’s as if he is being groomed by them,” she said.
“Adam has broken my heart but I love my son and always will, he’s still my little boy, and I hope his marriage is a good one and I hope he has a happy life like his mum and dad have.”
Holly and Adam announced the exciting news a few days ago. Taking to Instagram showing her growing bump, Holly announced: “Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can’t wait to meet our baby girl”

In the comments of Holly’s post, he added: ‘I’m going to be a very overexcited Grandad especially this Christmas.” Close family friend Victoria Beckham also added her well wishes posting: “Congratulations!!!!!!” Romeo Beckham also commented on the post with several heart emojis. Strictly Come Dancing’s Neil Jones also commented with heart emojis.
