Hyderabad: Cyberabad police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh felicitated Shashi Kumar for rescuing a two-year-old minor girl from a man attempting to sexually assault her. The incident occurred on August 16 when Shashi Kumar was passing through the area and heard the child crying. Responding immediately, he rushed to the spot and found the girl in danger. He intervened, rescued the child and caught the accused, subsequently handing him over to the police.
Recognising his timely intervention and courage, commissioner Ramesh felicitated Shashi Kumar with a shawl. He appreciated Shashi Kumar’s presence of mind and said his response had helped protect the child from danger. Dr Ramesh said the incident highlighted the need for members of society to respond responsibly when they witness someone in distress, particularly children. He praised Shashi Kumar’s courage and humanity, describing his actions as an example for others. Police appreciated his prompt response in ensuring the girl’s safety and helping authorities apprehend the accused.
Police Rule Out Presence of Any Person In Car Allegedly Used by Accused Mallesh
Hyderabad:Police investigating the Bolaram weapons theft case have ruled out the presence of any other person in the car allegedly used by the accused U. Mallesh on the night of the offence, as his questioning under police custody entered the third day on Thursday. Investigators have been examining whether Mahesh, who claimed to have been working as a cab driver that night, had received assistance from others in transporting or concealing the stolen weapons and ammunition.
Mallesh was accused of the theft of 12 weapons and around 2,000 rounds of ammunition from the kote and magazine rooms of the 20 Battalion, Madras Regiment, at Bolaram on the intervening night of August 30 and 31. The stolen weapons and ammunition were subsequently recovered intact.
Mallesh was reportedly confessing to the theft, police said, but had not admitted to the involvement of any other person. Police were examining his claim that he drove two passengers to Achampet on the night of the theft and produced payment records to support his claim. Investigators have now ruled out anyone else being present in the vehicle besides the two passengers, source said. Two more persons have reportedly come under the police radar, apart from suspects Vinod and Madhu, as investigators probed possible links to the theft.
Source said Mallesh having served in the military, was trained to remain silent and not disclose sensitive information. Investigators believe he is following the same approach and is admitting only to facts already established by the police, while withholding details about any possible accomplices.
Joint Meet Held To Discuss Traffic, Road Safety On JNTI Junction-Hitec City-Raidurgam Metro Corridor
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Thursday held a joint coordination meeting to examine traffic and road safety on the JNTU Junction-Hitec City-Raidurgam Metro Station-Wave Rock corridor and discuss a proposal for a Counterflow Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The meeting considered a survey by the Foundation for Resources and Innovations Policy (FRIP) with Society For Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC).
The FRIP survey covered footpaths, carriageway width, bus bays and stops, U-turns, junction design, parking arrangements and encroachments. It found the seven kilometre JNTU-Raidurgam corridor operating near maximum vehicular capacity, with peak-hour travel time reaching about 45 minutes. Officials said a mass-mobility solution was needed to carry more commuters and ease congestion.
The proposed Counterflow BRT is expected to cut travel time by up to 20 minutes from the present 45-50 minutes, increase passenger capacity and require no major land acquisition. The dedicated lane could be placed on the central portion of the opposite carriageway or the left side of the same-direction road, subject to feasibility. Bus stations are proposed along the median, with locations based on passenger demand and connectivity.
The TGSRTC said its buses operate up to Wave Rock and suggested integrating them into the dedicated lane. The CMC assured support for footpaths, bus bays, shelters and infrastructure. Traffic joint commissioner Sunpreet Singh directed FRIP to study operational challenges, including vehicle breakdowns or obstructions, and reassess the proposal for cost-effective short-term measures while examining long-term BRT feasibility. The system may require manpower and expenditure.
Cyberabad EOW Registers Case Against Businessman Partners For Cheating Him On Rs 12 crore Land Deal
Hyderabad: Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Cyberabad police registered a case after a businessman alleged that three partners of a Delhi-based LLP cheated him of Rs 12 crore in a land transaction involving 8.3 acres in Puppalaguda.
According to the complaint, the businessman was introduced to the accused Suresh Sharma through a friend. Sharma represented himself as a reputed real estate developer withis business interests in Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The complainant stated that Sharma along with his associates Rohit Kumar and Sanjay Sharma showed him land in Survey No. 273 at Puppalaguda and claimed that the property belonged to a construction firm. Sharma claimed to possess a power of attorney authorising him to sell the property and showed certain documents.
The complainant was allegedly asked to pay `15 crore as advance, which would either be adjusted towards the purchase of 0.5 acre or refunded with 18 per cent annual benefit if the transaction was not completed within three months.
Accordingly, the complainant transferred `12 crore to the account of the company through multiple RTGS, IMPS and online transactions. The accused later collected his details for preparing registration documents but allegedly stopped responding. The complainant subsequently learnt that the land was disputed and alleged that the accused had no rights over it and had created forged documents to make the transaction appear genuine.
Repeated requests for refund only failed. A security cheque issued by Anre Enterprises LLP was also reportedly dishonoured.
Man accused of Murdering Woman In Hotel Room Attempts Suicide At Home In Paravada Manal
Hyderabad: The accused in the case of murder of a woman in a hotel room here reportedly attempted suicide at his residence in Yedumetla Marripalem of Paravada mandal in Andhra Pradesh and was shifted to a hospital.
According to the police, the accused, Srinivasa Ravi Teja, and the victim, Sharon Nikita Topno, were in a relationship, They checked into a hotel at OSLN Terminus on Road No. 5 in Siddiquinagar, Madhapur. The woman was later found unconscious in the room with injuries. Teja shifted her to a hospital in Kothaguda where doctors declared her dead. He escaped after the woman was declared dead, and switched off his mobile phone. Clues Teams examined the hotel room and secured the scene for evidence.
After learning about his suicide attempt, Paravada police informed Madhapur police. Investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and the accused’s subsequent actions. Police said that the investigation was continuing and Teja would be arrested arrested after his discharge.
Manikonda Advocate Loses Rs 76.92 Lakh Investing In Online Trading Platform
Hyderabad: An advocate from Manikonda reportedly lost Rs 76.92 lakh after being lured through Telegram into investing in a fraudulent online trading platform that displayed fake profits and later blocked withdrawals. Cyberabad Cybercrime police registered a case and took up an investigation.
According to the complaint, the advocate received a message from a woman who introduced him to a trading platform. She claimed to be a group analyst and told him that she could help him earn high returns through stock market investments, block trades, upper-circuit stocks and IPO allotments.
After gaining the victim’s trust, she guided him to download the trading application and set up an account. From April, the complainant began transferring money from his banks to various accounts and UPI IDs shared with him through Telegram. The application displayed regular profits, including a virtual profit of around `98 lakh which only further convinced him that his investments were growing. According to the complaint, he transferred a total of `78 lakh, but received only `1.08 lakh back.
When he attempted to withdraw his money, the complainant was told to add more funds to become eligible for withdrawal. He was later informed that withdrawals have been temporarily locked after the trades were being sold. When he attempted to withdraw again, he was asked to deposit another three lakhs.
