Cyberabad police commissioner Dr M. Ramesh on Tuesday said that the police have played a key role in the state’s rapid development by ensuring peace, security and a conducive environment for investments and economic growth.
Addressing the Telangana Formation Day celebrations held at the Cyberabad police commissionerate parade ground, Dr Ramesh paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana.
Dr Ramesh said, “Telangana has emerged as a model state in several sectors, including innovation, welfare, infrastructure and law enforcement. Maintaining public safety and security was essential for attracting investments and fostering development. Cyberabad is also emerging as one of the country’s fastest-growing regions, driven by the IT sector, banking, finance, manufacturing industries, international airport, financial district, metro rail and major infrastructure projects.” He said providing security to people arriving from across India and abroad remains a key responsibility of the police.
The commissioner also stressed the need for coordination among government departments to deliver better services to citizens. Referring to the state’s progress in human development indicators and per capita income, he said every citizen should contribute towards the government’s vision of building a 3 trillion-dollar Telangana economy by 2047.
During the event, Dr Ramesh presented distinguished service medals, meritorious service medals and service medals to police personnel selected for their outstanding contributions.
