Vijayawada: The counting of votes in the municipal elections in Prakasam and Bapatla districts has been rescheduled from 8 am to 11.30 am due to heavy rain and strong winds.
The adverse weather conditions have disrupted transportation, making it difficult for counting personnel and election agents to reach the counting centres.
The State Election Commission (SEC) will review the situation at 10.30 am and take a further decision if the rainfall does not subside.
The change in schedule is limited to Prakasam and Bapatla districts. Vote counting will begin as scheduled at 8 am in all other districts.
The SEC has instructed district collectors to ensure that counting is conducted with adequate security arrangements.
