Daadi Ki Shaadi Early Review, Sweet Fun-Family Drama With Extraordinary Performance By Riddhima

Daadi Ki Shaadi is all set to release on May 8, 2026, and it stars Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma. The film marks the debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who is the elder sister of Ranbir Kapoor. After staying away from the cinema for several years, the acting bug has bitten Riddhima as well, and she is all set to rule Bollywood.

A special screening was held in Mumbai, and the early reactions hint at the bright future of the film. One person, who reviewed the film, shared how the three-hour film made them laugh. Neetu Kapoor delivered an amazing performance, and Riddhima’s debut was awesome. The review can be read as:

Such a fun family drama.” Famous Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan also praised Riddhima’s acting calibre and stated how she did better than Ranbir Kapoor in her first film and said, “Riddhima ki pehle film hai. Bahot badhiya kaam kiya hai. Ranbir se better kiya hai.”

Daadi Ki Shaadi storyline

Daadi Ki Shaadi is a warm family drama that is a mix of comedy, emotions and generational conflict. It marks the acting debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni at the age of 45. However, she looks no less than 25 on-screen. The star cast also includes Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, and Sarath Kumar, who is directed by Ashish R. Mohan. 

The film highlights family bonds and shows that happiness can be found at any age. It revolved around an elderly grandmother who left her family shocked with her decision to get married again, as for her, it is a chance to rediscover joy and friendship; her family is against the idea. Soon, the film turns chaotic with each character trying to share their thoughts, which adds to misunderstanding and family tensions. But as wedding preparations begin, old scars resurface, and the family starts clashing. The film’s theme is about giving second chances with a full heart, with age as no bar. 

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who made her debut with the film, talked about starting a new journey at 45. Earlier, she was part of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Recently, in an interview with SCREEN, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni talked about feeling emotional and how life has come full circle. She added that her father, Rishi Kapoor, is with her in whatever she chooses. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni also talked about how being in front of camera helped her transition into an actress. She said:

“It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle… I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort. Being in front of the camera for a show made me comfortable. It gave me a sense of ease and familiarity, which definitely made this transition smoother.”
