Dakota Johnson recently sat for an interview on Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast, wherein the host, Chloe Malle, asked the actress about the craziest surgery she recently heard about. To this, the actress said she doesn’t know much about it. It was the host who started discussing the cadaver fat injections, which are also known as zombie fillers. Apparently, research on it is underway at Vogue, and Chloe said she’s interested in learning more in depth.
Cadaver fat injections are a trendy and viral procedure, where adipose (fat) is taken from a donor (someone who passed away), and then it’s used as face or body fillers. It is FDA-approved, and reportedly, around 2000 people have been treated with this since May 2025, with the demand mostly being for GLP-1 weight loss.
No sooner did Dakota hear the same, than she went, ‘Shut up.’ When the actress questioned where these injections are put and what their usage is, the host went on to say it’s used for forehead and under-eye fillers and in breast implants, and that it’s considered a more organic option. Dakota couldn’t help but run a mental picture.
She thought of two gurneys, with one being with a corpse and syringes moving the tissue over to a patient. She questioned in shock, “Like somebody’s dead body thigh is going in your face?” She also added that it just made her “feel bad for humanity”. On the other hand, Malle said it’s kind of like recycling, and she’s into it.
