Actress Dame Judi Dench opened up about her struggle with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), telling the BBC she can longer “be on stage, do a film and read anymore”.
“They said this summer was absolutely sensational with bluebells, I couldn’t see one,” she told BBC’s Emma Barnett.
Dench is releasing her memoir Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It? written with fellow actor Brendan O’Hea at the end of October in the UK.
The Oscar-winning star revealed she was diagnosed with AMD back in 2012, which left her struggling to read scripts and recognise faces.
