Dan Levy Blasts Shane Gillis' SNL Monologue Where He Called 'Women In Gym Dressing Like Whores..'

Shane Gillis has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he gave a monologue on Saturday Night Live, calling out women’s gym outfits. Days after it, Dan Levy made a statement to call out Shane Gillis and teach them a lesson on the ugly monologue he delivered on national TV.

Dan Levy slammed Shane Gillis for his SNL monologue

Dan Levy called out Shane Gillis’ Saturday Night Live monologue, revealing that more men need to be standing up against it. He posted an Instagram Reel, wherein he shared his thoughts on Shane’s monologue. He began the video stating that women wearing short shorts at the gym are not whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists.

Dan claimed that there is a difference there, as he had seen more men naked at the gym than women. He said:

“Women wearing short shorts at the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there. By the way, I’ve seen more men’s nipples at the gym than I’ve ever seen women showing their bodies off.”

Dan further shared that he is speechless that something like it can exist on live national television and, to be perfectly honest. He also asked people to stand up in opposition to it as an environment is created where women are sexually assaulted. He said:

“But I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment in which women are sexually assaulted and it’s a ‘conversation’ as opposed to a ‘crime.’”

The Emmy-winning actor added that men need to be defending women more. He said it is not just a women’s issue, and also highlighted the fact that the more men will objectify women in the media, the more other men will treat them like an object. He said:

“This is not a women’s issue, this is an everybody issue. Because the more that men objectify women in the media, the more that other men see them as objects and treat them as objects. They are not objects. They are superior human beings to men, OK? And I’m sorry if this gets me in trouble with the internet, but fuck.”

Dan received a lot of support in the comments with people heaping praise for it. Elizabeth Banks wrote, “Nailed it.” Broadway actor, Barrett Wilbert Weed commented, ” love you, Dan.”

Shane Gillis

Shane Gillis made a mean remark during Saturday Night Live as he made a mean remark against women who dress up for gym and called them whores. He claimed there was no other way to describe them and asked if people had seen them wearing neon shorts. He also said the f-word which was a big no during a live television.

Back in 2019, he was hired as a featured player and fired days later when podcast clips resurfaced in which he made racist and homophobic comments. He later returned to SNL as a host in February 2023.
