Channel 5 presenter Dan Walker has admitted he still hasn’t forgiven former colleague Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije after her claims of bullying and sexism within the workplace

Dan Walker has spoken about his feelings towards presenter Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije after she accused him of bullying and sexism. The presenter admitted he is still “working towards” forgiving her for her claims, saying again there was no truth in it.

The Channel 5 presenter, 49, was very vocal at the time to claim his innocence before the case was settled out of court. At the time, he continued to defend himself and said the settlement was in no way his decision.

Now, he has opened up on his three years of difficulty and said he has a desire to move on with his life. But in order to to do so, he still needs to forgive Vanderpuije – but can’t just yet.

He said: “I’m glad it’s over and I’m not sure what I can or can’t say, but if you’re going to accuse somebody of that sort of thing it’s very important there’s an element of truth to it.” Speaking to the Mail, he continued: “If there’s no truth, you haven’t got any witnesses, and there’s no evidence to back you up.”

He thanked those who stood by him, and said he had over 100 people ready to give him a glowing character reference. But in the end, these were not needed. He said his overriding emotional was that he’s grateful that it’s over.

Dan is a Christian and said he takes his faith very seriously. Because of this, he knows forgiveness is important, but he says this one will “take me some time”.

After saying he was ready to go to tribunal to clear his name, he said he hopes his former colleague “finds peace”. In a statement following the settlement in April, Dan said: “Channel 5 and ITN have reached an agreement with the claimant.

“I firmly feel that I should never have been pulled into this; however, I was fully prepared to go to tribunal and defend the allegations which were levelled at me.”

The statement, which was shared on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, went on: “Through all of this, I have always been concerned for the claimant’s wellbeing, and that has not changed. I hope she finds peace.”

He continued: “I want to thank my family and friends for all their love and support through this. I will be forever grateful to those who were kind enough to go on the record with their accounts of working alongside me.
