Maura Higgins has been a popular face on television for all these years. She has been a part of multiple reality shows, including Love Island, Celebrity Juice, Dancing on Ice, and more. She recently started trending after her appearance on Dancing with the Stars Season 35 was confirmed, along with Ciara Miller. Outside the entertainment industry, Maura Higgins has created headlines for other reasons at the same time. One of the most notable incidents among them was an alleged kissing moment with singer and songwriter, Danny Jones. Danny Jones and Maura Higgins’s alleged kissing moment was reportedly captured on camera

As mentioned, Maura Higgins has been a part of various reality shows. She appeared on I’m a Celeb, two years ago in 2024. This is where she met Danny Jones for the first time. Although the duo’s alleged kissing moment in 2025 was captured on camera, Maura and Danny were never romantically linked to each other.

The news of the kiss was first reported by The Sun in March 2025, and it happened at the Brit Awards afterparty. The moment was reportedly recorded on a TikTok video. An eyewitness described the moment as a “brief drunken kiss” and it was reportedly seen by many other people during the early morning hours. A few others claimed that Danny and Maura were enjoying the party together for more than an hour. According to The Sun, another eyewitness said:

“Danny appeared to be giving Maura giving advice and at one point he put his arm around her shoulder. Maura also laid her head on Danny’s shoulder as they talked with friends. They sat down at a table together and then met their jungle campmate Oti Mabuse.”

Danny Jones apologised to his wife after the kissing moment created headlines

For the unversed, Danny Jones is the father of a child he shares with his wife, Georgia Horsley. The pair tied the knot in 2014. Two weeks after the kissing moment with Maura Higgins created headlines, Danny Jones shared a statement through his Instagram Story in March 2025, apologising to everyone and saying that it took some time to come out and speak up. Although he did not mention the kissing moment, Danny referred to Georgia and wrote:

“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately. I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support.”

While speaking to The Mirror, a friend of Maura Higgins opened up on how the reality TV star was dealing with the aftermath of everything that reportedly happened between her and Danny Jones. The friend, whose identity remains unknown, said that although Maura is working to keep everything normal, it is not so easy for her. The friend explained the same and added:

“Maura is a tough character but the reaction to events has been utterly relentless, and it’s fair to say it’s taken its toll. She has found all of this very difficult to navigate. She appreciates she’s in the public eye and there is extra interest around her, but the abuse is off the charts, and people need to calm down.”

Apart from the kissing moment, Maura Higgins was trending on the news for other reasons over the last few years. Back in 2019, Maura participated in Love Island. However, she landed herself in controversy after she was accused of sexual harassment by multiple viewers. The allegations emerged from a moment where Maura allegedly attempted to kiss Tommy Fury, who moved his face away from Higgins, as per BBC News. Ofcom later clarified that although the moment did not break any rules related to the standards that have to be maintained on such shows, they said that they were yet to take a call on whether they need to start an investigation into the matter.

Maura Higgins has also responded to the speculations claiming that she had plastic surgery. While speaking to Allure in April 2026, Maura said that the rumours were not true. She said that she had previously witnessed the claim stating that she had cheek filler. Maura mentioned that this is a false claim, adding that although she has had Botox frequently, she discontinued lip filler a few years ago. Maura further stated:

“I’ve definitely lost weight since ‘Love Island.’ And knowing how to do your makeup to suit your face, I think that makeup can change someone an awful lot. There are even articles going, ‘Maura says she doesn’t have any procedures.’ They’re nearly making out that I’m lying.’ I’m like, guys, you don’t understand. I would be so truthful.”
