AEW gave Darby Allin one heck of a polarizing world championship moment.
The company did so much right by one of its originals and four pillars over two hours before having him defeat MJF to win the AEW World Championship for the first time in what became a squash match in the main event of “Dynamite” on Wednesday night in his hometown outside of Seattle.
Before the match, Allin cut an impassioned promo that if he wasn’t ready to win the title now, then he would never be.
He later got a tremendous pep talk from his mentor Sting, telling him it’s not “showtime” but it’s “his time.”
