Caleb Williams‘ injury update could mean trouble for Chicago Bears fans, says Dave Portnoy.

The Chicago Bears suffered a terrible 9-3 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings during the Week 2 clash of the two sides.

The bigger concern for the Bears was star quarterback Caleb Williams being carried off the field following what looked like a brutal injury.

However, many experts, like Dave Portnoy, have scoffed at Williams’ reaction, as it turned out to be a right hamstring injury.

Dave Portnoy thinks Caleb Williams could have stayed on the field

Initially, Portnoy faced heavy criticism from fans for calling out Williams’ overreaction to the injury. But with reports flooding in about Williams suffering only a hamstring injury, the tide has seemingly turned in favor of the Barstool Sports founder.

Portnoy used this opportunity to issue a warning to the Bears fanbase about how the Week 2 defeat could cause them trouble later in the season.

“I think it’s fair to ask whether Caleb should have stayed in the game. I know a hockey player wouldn’t have been carted off with a tweaked hammy,” Portnoy wrote on X.

He added, “Bears probably win if he plays hurt. That division game could have playoff implications. Let’s hope it doesn’t come back to bite them.”

Considering Williams is yet to be ruled out for Week 3, it’s a sign that the QB hasn’t suffered a major injury. So Portnoy’s question makes sense.

After all, if Williams had stayed on the field, the Bears could have registered a win and achieved a 2-0 start to the season. Instead, they’re now 1-1 following a terrible Week 2 defeat.
